Nestled in the heart of mumbai since 1997, visitors cannot help but marvel at this eclectic repository of india¡s arts and crafts from every region.
Nirmitee lets your mind travel without moving. Right from the local warli paintings of maharashtra, to the styles of madhubani from bihar, phad & kathputli from rajasthan, pattachitra & dhokra from orissa, kalamkari from andhra pradesh, thanjavur from tamil nadu, wrought iron & brass from madhya pradesh, paper machine from kashmir and so very much more (paintings, puppets, pottery, murals & curios) from the length and breath of the country.
While patrons of art are delighted by nirmitee ¡s extensive collection, it is the artists themselves who appreciate the vision behind nirmitee, of keeping india¡s traditional, tribal & ethic arts not just alive, but flourishing. As a gallery with its own in-house studio, nirmitee revives, conserves and popularises, the classic and contemporary work of diverse artists through regular workshops and exhibitions. It also provides a common platform for artisans to sell their work under one roof.
Nirmitee ¡s eco-friendliness can be tangibly felt, in art pieces that are imaginatively made using recycled or biodegradable materials.
The nirmitee parivaar is proud to bring together all art lovers, art admirers, art appreciators, art revivers, art promoters and art creators on the same floor.
